What does Cc stand for in Yahoo Mail when you are composing an email?

What does the Cc stand for? It's under the "To:" box where you enter the email address of the person you want to send your email to.

What does Cc stand for in Yahoo Mail when you are composing an email?
It means Carbon copy, meaning you can send a copy of yor email to the email address of the person you put on the Cc line.
Reply:Carbon Copy
Reply:Cc is a leftover from the time of typewriters, back then before xerox machines and the like to make copies you would put a carbon paper in between two pieces of paper and make a copy, so the cc stands for Carbon Copy and it was used to indicate to whom the copies were to be sent

cc Charles

so today we use cc instead of copy to
Reply:CC i sused to send a copy of the mail to anyone else. This will send the carbon copy of the mail to the address u mention in cc.The person recieving cc copy will able to see to whom the original copy has been sent.

There is another option od BCC.The person getting the mail through BCC will not be able to know to whom the original copy has been sent.Hence can say it BLIND CARBON COPY
Reply:Carbon copy. Mostly used when sending an e-mail to a number of people. Every one who receives the message will be able to see the e-mail addresses of everyone else.

Use BCC or blind carbon copy if you don't want to be handing out others e-mail addresses.

Reply:it stands for CARBON COPY... they are the other recipients of your email. TO field recipients may require them to respond on your message but the CC field recipients may not require to do that.
Reply:carbon copy. Back when typewriters were the only method of printing type secretarys used this if they were sending a letter to more than one person. At the bottom of the letter they would put

cc: John Doe (whoever)

They really had to use carbon paper (a black messy paper) put between two sheets of stationary to print a cc. Hence the name. Incidently, bcc stands for blind carbon copy meaning that the original email recipient will not see who else you send the message to if you put addressed in the bcc line.

Have a good day
Reply:CC is carbon copy, you are copying them on the email even though it's not directly for them

BCC is blind carbon copy, the other recipients CAN'T see who you copied on the email

The only problem with BCC is that some knucklehead might not notice and reply to all, when no one was supposed to know he/she was on the email.
Reply:the to is the person that you are writeing the e-mail to. the one that it was intended for.

the Cc or Carbon Copy is for someone ealse that you want the letter to go to. say you are sending some info about e-mail to one frend but another frend has asked to get the same info you could put that other frend in the cc blank.

the Bcc or blind carbon copy is their for you to send the e-mail to someone without the otheres receving the e-mail knowing that they got it.
Reply:It means "Carbon Copy".

back in the days of typewriters, that i how you made mulitple copies - paper, carbon, paper, carbon, paper, etc. You then had an original and multiple "carbon copies".
Reply:thanks for asking this cause i always wanted to know that and also thanks for the 2 points !! :)
Reply:It's just like the "To" I don't know what it means exactly, but it will get sent to anyone you put in there, too.
Reply:It is another person who will also receive a copy of the message separately.
Reply:Carbon Copy or Courtesy Copy

it's a feature to send other people copies of the mail.
Reply:CARBON COPY
Reply:carbon copy - old school term. If you cc your outgoing email a copy will be sent to you.
Reply:Copy to-if you want another person other than the person you are sending it to to read it also.
Reply:Carbon Copy from the old days when people used carbon paper to copy what they were writing onto another piece of paper.
Reply:Just to predict your next question.....the BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy. As in the person you are sending it to can't see who else you are CC'ing.
Reply:Copies Concerning-----this is who you want a copy of the letter to go to in addition to the primary person you are sending the email to. Before computers CC was short for carbon copy. This meant that a carbon copy of the letter was going to the people listed after the CC.
Reply:CC stands for carbon copy...basically you can send a "carbon copy" or exact replica of your email to another person...when in house memos are sent within a company, they use CC so the person sending it knows where to send it and also the person reading it knows who else has received it...that way they don't have to send it again...hope this helps
Reply:It stands for Carbon Copy. Carbon copy is used to let someone else know about a message even though they are not the primary person the message was intended for.
