When I click on the tool bar for font, color, size...nothing happens..
Hows come I cant get the "color" or "size" options ect to work on my Yahoo email compose page?
you have to click on it, then type to make it work, or highlight the text you want to format, than change the size etc
i know this seems a bit obvious, but you would be surprised at the amount of daft mistakes some of my colleagues call me with

i SIGNED UP FOR MY YAHOO I REALLY LIKE IT IT HAS CHANGE OF PATTERENS AND COLORS AND I JUST LIKE THE WHOLE OPTION OF BEING ABLE TO CHANGE THE SCREEN. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND WHEN I CHECK MY EMAIL AND RESPOND IT GOES BACK TO THE OLD YAHOO MAIL SCREEN. HOW DO I GET THE MY YAHOO TO REMAIN THE SAME WHEN I COMPOSE AND EMAIL?

You moved from your home page to mail page. Just go back to homepage.

Write it in Word then make a case change before pasting it into email or yahoo.
Also, lower case is much easier to read!

The message area is totally blank. I don't know how you will be able to contact me via email, as I cannot open messages!

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. Hope this helps.

However, most likely you need to update Java, Adobe Flash Player and Quicktime.
I do use Firefox Mozilla which seems to avoid most of these issues, although it might just be because I have the recent updates. Even at that I recently could not get yahoo videos, but updating the Flash Player fixed that.

I loved just doing the slideshow for pictures. Much easier.

Reply:i asked this same question two weeks ago and got only a few responses. Since then, more of the same question have poured in to Yahoo Answers. Search there for help. For now, it looks like the guy who said that they are closing down the photo mail was right. mine is gone and i think it was rude. they could have at least told us it is going to be removed. looks like we are forced to do it the slow way by choosing each photo individually (or we could all switch to google GMAIL).

Reply:i asked this same question two weeks ago and got only a few responses. Since then, more of the same question have poured in to Yahoo Answers. Search there for help. For now, it looks like the guy who said that they are closing down the photo mail was right. mine is gone and i think it was rude. they could have at least told us it is going to be removed. looks like we are forced to do it the slow way by choosing each photo individually (or we could all switch to google GMAIL).

do a disk clean up! it erases temporary memory files. That will do it! if you schedule those every night, or on startup, you won't have a problem with it and your pc will run better.

I press compose on the mail page and the "to" and "from" blocks appear, as well as an attach file button, but the blank body block does not appear, so I can't write anything, nor will it send just a blank email.

Or, you can set your cookies at the lowest possible setting, and that should work too. It bugs me to have to do this, but at least it will help you get your emails if you are browsing with Internet Explorer. You can always reset your cookies after accessing your email.

And what's happening to you is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. Their "tech support" is nothing but a joke right now. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.
I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.
Please see my posting from Fri. Jan. 12 under the heading "Anyone having problems of any kind w/Yahoo Mail, PLEASE READ THIS" for more info and on reporting problems to Yahoo.

This is the new upgrade they did. I do not like it. I clicked on mail classic this morning and nothing happened. The OPT out button does not bring the old one back either. Look on your email page and it will say "Classic with a new Twist" click on it and it will show you all the changes they made. When something is not broken don't fix. I wish yahoo would go by that rule!!!

Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. On "my space" in the control panel I try to go to Compose and it keeps going to email Verfiacation .

I had to send it via my OHs account.). Anyway no contact from 'engineering' today (I can read emails). Went back onto live 'help' to be told there were no time lines or targets for getting back to me and I had to basically wait and see if and when it gets solved. But its ok as I have been assured that they are working on it as a matter of 'urgency'......however they can't tell me even when I will be contacted by them so could be a day, a week...a month. Bit cheesed off I have to say.

How do i get photo mail option into my email compose?
A one-time (per PC) installation is required in order to send PhotoMail. To send a PhotoMail you must be composing in color and graphics rather than plain text. You must also have a international language setting that allows PhotoMail. Click the link below and click Get Started to install the Quick Select Tool.
Yahoo! PhotoMail is not available in Yahoo! Mail Beta yet, but in original Yahoo! Mail click Insert Photos above the compose window, that is where PhotoMail Quick Select Tool is located after you download and install it. If you're using Yahoo! Mail Beta, you can switch back to original Yahoo! Mail to use Yahoo! PhotoMail and then switch back to Beta if you want, that is what I do. It's very simple and easy to switch back and forth.

Mail Beta, you can switch back to original Yahoo! Mail to use Yahoo! PhotoMail and then switch back to Beta if you want, that is what I do. It's very simple and easy to switch back and forth.

It sounds as if the file has gone corrupt re-install the software this should fix it, or you can use ccleaner found at ccleaner.com to clean up old temp files. Try the cleaner first if this doesn't work then re-install.

When I go to Compose a new Email, The page displays but the box that you write in, doesnt appear, and I can't write a message to anyone, but I can add an address and a subject. I can't work out how to make the box appear, can anyone help me???

I can receive emails but I cannot forward them nor can I compose an email and send it for 2 days now. HELP!!?

I been having the same problem for 5 days at least. Yahoo client care are polite in responding
but no solutions. At first they tried to tell me it was with my computer and gave me a list of
"try this" and "try that", none of which worked. I'm getting frustrated and ready to switch mailers! Report Abuse

If when you hit reply, the message just gets bigger than look at the bottom of the page and their is a box that says to select message encoding. Once you select one, you can reply to messages. I still haven't been able to find a way to fix the compose message but it must also have something to do with the encoding.

Can you preset fonts, colors and automatic spell check that automatically appear in each email you compose?
In the Beta Yahoo mail you can change the default Font and font size but not color. There is not an option to set spell check to automatically check.

Also seems your email has got infected (not 100% sure) sp try email scanning with your antivirus , Av's like TrendMicro have such facilities to scan Emails even Avast and others does.

Why does my cursor fly all over the place when composing in email word or excell?
I have just purcashed my 1st laptop and it has Windows vista. When trying to type my cursor flies all over sheet and I end up tying in middle of already typed sentences. Its done it 4 times when typing this and Im at wits end my work is taking twice as long%26gt;

In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.

What happened to the insert photo option when I compose an email? Do you only have photo albums now? Help!?
You use to be able to just click on your photo and it was added to the body of your email...now all I can find is photo albums. Photo albums is a great feature but when sending just a couple of pictures it was very nice being able to just add to the body of my email. Please help if this feature is still available...I can't find it. Thank You!

Why can't I compose and email or reply to an email from my yahoo account?
Since Thanksgiving 2005, I have been having a problem, although be it sporatically, when composing or replying to emails. Some days I can go in and compose and reply to emails and then other days I can't. The box that the message would normally appear in is gone. I can enter the people I would like to send the email to and even enter a subject but that's it. The "body" of the email cannot be entered. So, if I try to "get around the problem" by typing a short subject as the email and then try sending it, nothing happens. The email never gets sent.
Does anyone know why this happens? I haven't been able to send an email for days now, although, I can receive and read emails that are sent to me... ?????

聽聽聽You need to change your preferences to plain text formatting instead of HTML. From a Yahoo! Mail page click the "Options" link at top right of the page, then click "General Preferences". Scroll down to the "Composing E-mails" category and select "Compose messages as plain text" then Save your changes. This will resolve the issue in most cases.
聽聽聽If the first step didn't work and you had to proceeed to the second one try switching back to HTML formatting once a week or so just to see if it'll work again for you

What email service are you using? That will help me trouble shoot.
Also, this may sound really stupid, but I fixed this on someone's computer once: make sure you aren't using white font. My client accidentally set their font to white, and thought their software was not working.
Tell me if it outlook, outlook express or whatever, then I can suggest some trouble shooting methods.

I think I have somehow screwed up the formatting. I get To, Cc, From lines but then underneath it goes directly to Attach Files instead of having a place to type out my message. I really could use some help. I'm a mess when it comes to computer competence.

When the captcha appears, put your cursor on the address you are sending to and click. See if that works. Or just highlight the address. If not, you can use one of these links until Yahoo gets it fixed, they have been notified about this problem and said they are working on it. I have started writing my mail in Word,then copy and paste into my e-mail. that way if it goes pear shaped at the captcha stage I can re paste it and not need to retype it. I believe that Yahoo are looking at the fault of the captcha not always posting.

How come my contacts are no longer listing themselves in the "TO:" line when composing an email?
My contacts used to list themselves the minute I would start typing their e-mail or name and no longer does that. Why?

Auto Complete was changed during the latest update----and now, it depends on what browser you're using---and if it's supported by Yahoo.
